A visit to the Pier Museum offers a detailed insight into the the fascinating history of the world’s longest pleasure pier.
The Museum is opened during weekdays for pre-arranged visits by school and educational institutions. Teachers will find it a valuable source of information and of particular interest to school children of all ages. A small charge will be levied for each visit.

Make Learning Fun
The Museum has a number of hands on exhibits to enhance the learning experience.
A number of films cover all aspects of the Pier’s history. School children can operate the levers in the signal box as well as play the slot machines with old pennies.
Arranging the Visit
Up to two teaching staff are invited to make a free pre-arranged visit, to the Museum to discuss the requirements for their group.
The school group can be to a maximum of 30 pupils plusĀ teaching/support staff. (The Museum can accomodate up to 40 people.)
We suggest that visits are most suitable for key stage 1 students and above. We recommend 45-60 minutes per visit.
