How to Find Us

A visit to the Pier Museum offers a detailed insight into the the fascinating history of the world’s longest pleasure pier. The Pier  Museum is located in the old pier workshops underneath the train station at the shore end.

To locate the Museum entrance you should go into the Pier reception and then walk towards the trains and before entering the platforms turn right where the entrance  is signposted.

Getting Here

Southend Pier is at the heart of Southend seafront.

Cars may drop passengers off at the drop off point at the West entrance to Southend Pier, next to Adventure Island.

Parking

There are a number of council run car parks along the seafront and in the town centre, with bays for disabled parking.

By Rail

The museum is about 10 minutes walk from Southend Central station

There are regular C2C trains to Southend on Sea from  Fenchurch Street station in London and to Southend Victoria station on the Greater Anglia line.

Opening Times

The Museum is open from the start of the season on Good Friday until the end of the year.

Currently, as the museum relies on volunteers, opening is restricted to Saturdays and Sundays with some limited opening on Fridays in high season.

When it is open, the hours are 11.00 am to 5.00 pm.

The museum is open by arrangement for education and adult group visits.
